Chocolate NEW
by: Anonymous

I have had bad reactions to Cadburys chocolate.
One piece of Dairy Milk almost closed off my throat and air passages, needed inhaler to be able to breathe.
Whitakers is the only chocolate I seam to be able to eat and only small amounts of that.

Chocolate troubles NEW
by: Anonymous

Agreed! i had my suspicians that MOST cadbury products were not gluten free after having reactions to them so I emailed cadbury. I got a reply saying ALL of their products were gluten frr unless stated on the packaging (ie glucose from wheat). However, I am still loathe to put my faith in this quick email reply from cadburys admin staff who are obviously not gluten intolerant themselves as a number of their products still cause me problems. Cadbury australia however has a page on their website stating their gluten-free products, and although their recipies would differ slightly from NZ, if your having difficulties it may be somewhat helpful to you.

It Depends NEW
by: Kurovian

It depends on what flavour of Cadburys chocolate you're eating - some, like Black Forest, always have gluten.

It also depends on where the chocolate is made, New Zealand or Australia. Australian-made Cadbury's chocolate often includes gluten-based ingredients, whereas the NZ-made versions don't.

My best advice is to read the label. Cadbury's hightlights gluten-based ingredients on their wrappers if they're included in the product.

And yes, the Whittakers bars are safe, to the best of my knowledge.

Cheers,
Tracy
