Cocoa powder

Would cocoa powder bother me if I am gluten intolerant?

I called Hershey today and they said it would list the possible allergen if they thought it was contaminated, but I feel horrible after I made a mexican dish last night.

Everything was all natural except the spices (which I bought in bulk before I went gluten free) and the cocoa powder. Any advice?

Spices and Cocoa

If it is just straight cocoa powder with no fillers or thickeners then it should be fine.

I find stock mixes or packed flavourings usually have wheat thickener in the gravy or sauce.

Soya sauce contains wheat which can sometimes also be in sauces.

Look for gluten in the thickening agents or try make up your own spice mix (rather then buying packets) this way you know exactly what is going in your marinade.
