Gluten Free Biscuit Idea

Want the basic recipe for a biscuit... you can adapt this and add your favourite flavors to make the biscuits your own.
I love having cookies on hand or in the freezer.
Ingredients:
1 cup sorghum flour
1 3/4 cup gluten free Baking Mix
1/4 cup sweet rice flour
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shortening -- cubed
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
Directions:
Lightly beat 1 egg and 1/2 a cup of milk together in a bowl.
Mix together the dry ingredients in a food processor. Pulse in cubed shortening. Add the milk-egg mixture into the blender. Pulse until dough is formed.
Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill 1 hour or overnight, or roll or pat it out right away and use can roll it into a log and cut rounds or be more creative and use a biscuit cutter and make shaped biscuits.
Place on baking paper and bake 150 Degrees for 10 minutes.
Brush melted butter on biscuits the last couple of minutes of baking, if desired. This helps them to brown a little bit better... sometimes gluten free biscuits just do not like to tan!
You should get around 12 serves out of the recipe, I love adding chopped dried apricots and chocolate chips to mine.
