Pimp Your Kitchen... Gluten Free
Cooking Equiptment to get the job done.
When
it comes to gluten free cooking, there is alot of D.I.Y. involved so
its important to get the right tools so you can make the best gluten
free bread, muffins, spaghetti, grilled chicken and vegetables... So
read on and find out my favourite tools for the gluten free kitchen.
Below is a list of my favourite kitchen items, and why I think they are
so good. I will try and find some links of where you can get hold of
them as well. Some of these are basic household items while others are
things you might want to invest in as they make baking and cooking a
whole lot faster and easier.
If you have a tool in the kitchen that you think a gluten free cook can
not be without? why not add it to the list, use the form below to tell
us about your favourite gluten free tools in the kitchen and why they
are the best.
Gluten
Free Breadmaker
People opt to use a gluten free breadmaker as it is cheaper, they can
cater to other allergies, they can add their favourite flavours and
twists. They can make it fresh everyday and it makes your kitchen smell
amazing...
Gluten
Free Pasta Maker
As a
child I was always in the kitchen creating new types of pasta and
sauces which were a culinary delight... but after going gluten free I
found it harder to get the taste of fresh pasta... so I employed the
assistance of a pasta maker...
Gluten
Free Sandwhich Press
Perched
on my kitchen bench.. my gluten free sandwhich press is the pride and
joy of my gluten free kitchen. Its always there where I need it and
seems to cook anything under the sun... From Toast, to prawns, chicken
or steam, to vegies, hashbrowns or even eggs... I love my gluten free
grill and its another peice of gluten free cooking equipment I use
everyday...
Gluten
Free Steamer
One
of the things I love about gluten free cooking is getting back to the
flavour of our ingredients... not more sugar packed sauces full of MSG
and other ... well dare I say Crap!!! One thing I will never do without
is my Gluten Free Steamer...
Gluten
Free Magic Bullet
Now I
must admit... When I saw the infomercials I laughed... but there is
beauty behind the cheesy gimmick... This machine is actually
great for making smaller things like pestos, hummaces and salsas that
you can make fresh and gluten free...
Gluten
Free Rice Cooker
Even
before my gluten free days, I have often thought about investing in a
gluten free rice cooker. Now rice as you know is gluten free (assuming
there is not issues with cross contamination) so finding an easy way to
cook it can be a great way of complimenting any gluten free dish...
Gluten
Free Crockpot
The days
of the Crockpot are not over, this retro device which reminds me of my
mothers dinner parties, is a great way to cook food to perfection, its
great for curries, roasts, keeping food warm, and is an excellent
investment when you are feeding a few hungry people as it can hold a
lot
of food...
