update on GF soy milk coffee in HB cafe's

Cafe Devine have changed their soy milk and it is now gluten free. Which I am very grateful for as I can now enjoy their cafe.
New World Hastings Cafe has changed to soy milk with gluten in. Assistant on counter said they had always used it. I know they used to use a gluten free one as I checked the box several times. I stopped making sure it was GF and wondered why the last few coffees gave me stomach cramps.
So it unfortunatly means if you need to have GF soy milk then ask everytime in case they have changed it.
Bay Expresso sells a nice gingerbread star biscuit which is GF and dairy free. And their coffee is consistently the best.

cafe snacks and coffee GF and dairy free

Cafe Rosso has a orange and almond cake that is dairy and gluten free but they use the red vitasoy milk so coffee has to be black. They also have some salads and meals that are gluten/dairy free.

Esquires uses gluten free soy milk but there is no food that I can eat.
Unfortunatly I have to ask each time which soy milk cafes are using as sometimes they change.

Cafe Devine has some food that is both gluten and dairy free but they also use the red vitasoy milk so again black coffee has to be the choice of drink.
There is a cafe by the bridge in Clive and they have soy coffee but no GF/dairy free food.
I have basicaly given up expecting to get a cake and a soy coffee in one cafe. I choose between black coffee and cake/salad or soy coffee and no food. In which case I have something in the handbag which I eat.Sometimes I ask if I can eat my own food and they have always said yes but some cafes I dont ask and just eat very discretly.

Madeleines in Hastings has nice soy coffee (no food)
Bay Expresso has the best soy coffee!

i've got the same problem and it gets really annoying. do you know any cafes in napier that cater for gluten and dairy free
