I
was playing round in the kitchen this weekend, and made an excellent
Pasta sauce from scratch, its quick, easy, and goes with a lot of
pastas or flavors. This is a great dish for a cold night.
Ingredients:
2 Table Spoon Gf Flour 1 Table Spoon Margarine or Butter Soy or Normal Milk (Enough to make enough sauce) 1 Teaspoon Basil 1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Pinch Mustard Powder 1/2 Packet Orgran Pasta Spirals 2 Sticks Chopped Chorizo 1 Cup Frozen Peas 1/4 cup Parmesans cheese 1 Cup Spinach (optional) Salt and Pepper To Season 1 Tin Gf Chopped Tomatoes 1/4 Teaspoon Fresh Chilli
Lets Make Pasta.
Boil a pot of water, add a pinch of
salt, and add pasta spirals. In a separate pot make a white sauce
mixture, melt butter and sprinkle over gf flour stirring constantly,
until it becomes a paste, add garlic and cook this paste until it
bubbles and sizzles (Around 2 minutes).
Then Slowly pour in the
Milk, stirring constantly with a whisk to avoid lumps, mix until thick
then add a little more milk and repeat until the desired quantity. Add
the Canned tomatoes and stir thoroughly. Add Basil, Chilli and Mustard
Powder and stir.
Add the frozen peas to the pasta in the last 5
minutes off cooking time. Cook the chorizo and remove excess fat with a
paper towel, add to the sauce mixture. At this stage you may also like
to wilt some spinach in the dish.
Add the Parmesans and partially melt into the sauce.
Drain the pasta and peas and combine with the sauce. Heat until warm, then serve in a bowl with salt and pepper to season..
