Free Travel Hostel

Gluten Free Travel Hostel, Eating away from home can be a worrying
time, with traveling i have stayed in a number of different
accommodation options, from hostels, to couches, to hotels, to
apartments, to tents.
Being gluten free can be annoying, but it does
not have to ruin your holiday, just follow my Gluten Free Travel Tips
On Hostel Eating.
Email Ahead
If the hostel offer breakfast, or Meals, Email them asking if they
offer any gluten free options, It may pay to attach a list of foods you
can and cannot have, as this may help them identify, and be more
willing to cater to your needs.
Pre Pack Your Own Food
I know this sounds very primary school, but sometimes it can be easier
to pre pack, and buy your own food. Buy a cool bag, they are cheap at
Walmart, and a cool pack, this way you can refreeze the cool pack and
night, and keep all of your food fresh.
Gluten Free Bread.
If you are staying somewhere with free breakfast, its not always likely
they will provide you with gluten free bread, so its easier to buy your
own. But beware of cross contamination, if the toasting facilities look
bad, I would have bread... rather then toast. Also beware of spreads,
they have different ingredients in different countries.
Making Your Own
When buying you own food, be careful of what you read on the packet,
different countries have different laws about food labels it pays to
research foods that ARE gluten free before you go. Nothing Worse then
getting sick on holiday.
Embrace You Inner Caveman
Be a hunter and gatherer, and store you food up... no I do not mean you
need to go and shoot a wild elk with a bow and arrow. Just store up
dried foods, like nuts, seeds, crackers, pasta, stocks, and Fruit. This
way you have always got a backup when there is not gluten free food in
site.
