Gluten Free Waikanae Drift Cafe

DRIFT CAFE is right next to the beach at Waikanae. It has a great view over the bay to Kapiti island and is open for lunch and dinner - menu is on the web.

Much of the menu is gluten-free - and you are encouraged to ask if you're not sure. They even serve GF beer - Scotts from Auckland. We dropped in for cake - and I can heartly recommend both the Orange Almond (very moist) and the chocolate brownie (chocolate mousse between two light slices of cake).

And just to top things off - not only is the outside space dog-friendly, our greyhound Chloe got her own water bottle and lots of fuss from the whole staff.

Heartily recommend it. We live there and we'll be back regularly.
