I bought a loaf of Nature's Own gluten free bread last week. My husband ate and enjoyed the taste of two sandwiches he made using this bread. The bread's ingredients all sound safe for a person on a gluten free diet.
That evening my husband began feeling ill, and by next day we both recognized all of the symptoms of a celiac episode, which he hasn't had in years. We traced everything he ate that day and we concluded that the only thing it could have been is the bread. He was ill for three days.
Luckily he is fine now, but we do not want to have a repeat of this experience with other new products that we might try. Has any one else experienced this problem? I'd hate to blame the bread company if perhaps my husband just may be having an allergic reaction to one of the other ingredients,or if the fact that he had four pieces of the bread caused a reaction due to trace amounts of gluten.
