I was told the process used to skin nuts involved them being tossed in a barrell that contained wheat flour.
I have had some problems when eating nuts such as whole, skinned and raw cashews.
Perhaps this was because they were purchased from a bulk bin that had previously had wheat flour in it?
Any help with this issue much appreciated.
Also any information anyone has about ongoing problems with anemia would be very helpful.
Thanks,Lee

Hi Lee,
Yes nuts can be a real issue - the environment peanuts grow in makes it easy for allergy causing molds and bacteria to grow on... which is why we see so many people with sever peanut allergies.
I had not heard about the wheat processing of nut skins... scary isn't it - that they would never declare that on the packet.
I have found I am allergic to some raw nuts - but this is due to oral allergy syndrome.
