New to Gluten Free -

by Sascha
(Albany, NY)

I'm on my 3rd day of being gluten free and I'm curious if others felt the way that I do. On the whole, I feel pretty good. I'm just really hungry all the time. Also, I noticed that I've been a bit gassier that usual, some times a little painful. Is this normal?

Hollow feeling
by: Anonymous

Hi just read your question. I went Gluten/Wheat free with my Ceoliac daughter March last year.
My migranes decreased by about 90%, and I have lost about 6-7 kilos'.
I did feel very hollow and grazey', it takes time to find new snacks and for your tummy to shrink and adjust to the new diet and portion sizes. If you enjoy fruit and vege both raw and cooked you can fill up on these. And corn thins, or rice wafers with cream cheese and tomato or any of your favourite toppings, and safe rice crackers. Provided your not lactose intolerant...yogurt is a good standby too, especially with a chopped banana or something added. Nuts, rice-hot or cold. We like cold rice with tuna and gluten free mayo.
I have also discovered a great 'safe' bread mix for my breadmaker. I have loads more to share....good luck. Regards Bernie and Amy.
