No More Sleepless Nights!

As a Child I had bothersome stomach problems. My symptoms were mildly aggravating, and at age 11,It grew worse to the point that my Mother took me to a gastric Specialist because I complained so much.
I went through an upper & lower GI test which showed I had an ulcer, except his treatment did nothing. I had trouble falling asleep, concentrating, was moody and crabby.
I was tested for ADHD,depression, and assorted other categories. If someone fed me anything with noodles I could'nt always keep it down, but I only just made that connection recently. Thyroid problems run in my family-Mom, Brother, Myself.
I was diagnosed HyperThyroid three years ago,and when my Doctor had me stabilized,I made a list of my other symptoms and took it to him. He advised me to stay away from Gluten, flour, wheat, etc, for two weeks, and to come back.
WOW! I owe that Specialist who took the time to listen a lot. I slept really good for the first time at age 37. I am no longer crabby, (without a good reason) tired,or having stomach problems. And I can concentrate! All three of my children, all three of my brothers, and my Mom have Celiac Disease, my current mission is to encourage them to make proper food choices, with the help of my daughter who has come to terms that she can't eat what she wants.
Another good side effect to sticking to the proper diet is that both my daughter and I are no longer overweight, either. People that haven't seen us for a while can't get over the obvious physical/ mental change in me or my Daughter.
Everyone gleefully tries to make sure there's food available to us when we have family functions, and I can convert a recipe pretty much with my eyes closed. When I discovered all the alternative flours & cookies out there, My daughter and I were beside ourselves!
To me eating GF is a choice: I want to feel good, or I don't! It's that simple.
