Serving Gluten Free Food With Gluten Containing Food

Can anyone please tell me, if I can serve gluten-free bread next to bread containing gluten (in separate baskets/platters)? If every care has been taken not to contaminate the breads etc. Thank you.

Bread baskets NEW
by: Sylvia

I presume the reason for your caution is that there is a coeliac in amongst your guests/gathering. Coeliacs are warned not to use wooden chopping boards because of the danger of gluten contamination remining in the wood. Not sure if ths also applies to bamboo baskets but porcelain platters would be fine. The other danger would be someone perhaps using the wrong tongs,e.g. using the tongs from the GF basket to pick up a non GF piece of bread and then replacing them back in the GF basket. The whole basket full of GF bread would then potentially be compromised. It doesn't take much.
