Sierra Cafe Greenlane - Allergy Sufferers Beware!

Allergy sufferers BEWARE! I went to Sierra Cafe in Greenlane for a relaxing breakfast with my partner and paid extra to get the advertised "gluten free" bread as I have a severe allergy to gluten and wheat.

I had already eaten 3/4 of my meal when the chef came over to advise me that he had served me normal bread rather than gluten free.

Although he was apologetic I don’t think he grasped the full extent of how sick his mistake was going to make me. (He kept repeating that he was happy to remake my meal with gluten free bread which is really not a help since I had already eaten most of the meal containing the full glutinous bread!!)

I spent the next week very sick and miserable, although I guess I am lucky that I am not allergic to the likes of peanuts as the Sierra Cafe's indifference to allergy sufferers could have been more serious/fatal.

If you are an allergy sufferer I would recommend eating elsewhere as Sierra Cafe does not take care to ensure you receive what you order.

NB: When I asked for a refund for my meal I was given it - had to ask for it though.
