Does anyone know if someone with Coeliacs can use Aveeno products?

They are great for dry skin but I see they have wheat products in them? Also is there a shampoo that should be used as I noted on another question/answer on this website someone mentioned that shampoo's can have products in that should not be used?

Thanks for your answers.

Hi,

I have tried aveeno products (I have a bad skin sensitivity to any products containing hydrolyzed wheat protein or gluten in them) and they gave me a reaction. I would not advise you use products if you know you have a sensitivity, although some people who experience reactions when ingesting gluten do not react as badly to skin contact.

I think it is best to steer away from potential allergens.

Mike Hamel does a gluten free shampoo and conditioner (I notice most shampoos are gluten free, it just seems to be the conditioners which contain gluten, as wheat protein is used as a thickening agent and strengthening agent.

As a moisturiser I use landers formula emollient cream - it is a generic moisturiser made of emollient and glycerol. I have tried a lot but them seems to be plain and kind to my skin and I can use it all over the body.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Is Landers formula emollient cream available in pharmacies and supermarkets?

Unfortunately wheat protein is often found in shampoos, conditioners and face creams.
Thanks,
Susan
