Vitamin deficiency and gluten sensitivity. As well all know, living life gluten free can be a guessing game at times, you want to eat whats best for your body, but how do you insure you are getting everything you need when you are cutting our certain food groups?
**250250asunit.shtml***

In todays life, there are so many chemicals, and additives in our food, its hard to be sure how much nutritional value they have. Then there is the two sides of the vitamin supplements argument. Some argue by eating a healthy diet, you should be able to maintain a healthy diet full off all the vitamins you need. While others say we are not getting enough of everything we need in our diet, and vitamins are a great way to maintain a healthier lifestyle.

But what works for you?

Well in my experience, I found before going gluten free, I was always, sick, grumpy, tired, and in generally ill health with all sorts of skin problems and infections. Gluten can be dangerous, as it interrupts they way our body works, and stops us getting some essential nutrients, it really interrupts the bodies ability to process foods.

I find
my body is a lot kinder to me since giving up the gluten, But in cutting out this food group, see the need to gain my fiber from other sources.

What Works For Me?

Well I combine good nutrition sources, with supplements to get the most out of my diet, and help my health. With a number of allergies (personally I have intolerance to gluten and dairy) I need to look at ways to get my daily calcium requirements, fiber, while also looking at other things that could help me after years of gluten damaging my body.

My first step was to consult a professional, I do not recommend anyone undergoes major changed to their diet until consulting a professional about sound nutrition.

This is the diet I orginally went on after going Gluten Free It was called
The Low Stress Diet.
and really helped me to figure out what I was allergic to. When ever I start feeling like gluten or to much dairy are creeping into my diet, I always refer back to The Low Stress Diet.

What are some supplements that are possibly of
benefit to coeliacs and gluten intolerant people?

  • Omega 3 Fish Oil
  • Pro biotic - Acidophilis
  • Amino acids
  • Magnesium
I take a range of vitamins, A Multi everyday, along with Omega 3's and Acidophilis.
