What soy products are okay for a gluten free person

I know I can't have Soya Sauce because it contains Wheat flour - BUT does that also rule out any Soy products. I am afraid to try anything containing soy in case I react. Can anyone advise me please.

GF Soy Products
by: Liz

Hi!
Most soy milks in Canada are GF. Not sure about other countries. I like the President's Choice brand, Silk, and So Nice. The one not GF in Canada that I'm aware of is Vitasoy. I think that's what it's called. It's made using barley.
There are probably more that are and are not GF, but I'm not sure which ones.
I was using a store brand soy sauce but just discovered by calling the company that it's not guaranteed GF, as it may have come into contact with wheat. There's no wheat listed on the label so I thought it was GF. Was I ever frustrated when I found out, and that the rest at the store have wheat in the ingredients. I know there are some available, but haven't been able to find them.
As far as other soy products go, soy itself is GF. I use soy protein powder and soy flours quite a bit. With tofu, etc. I would call the company.

Soy Products

La Choy Soy Sauce doesn't contain wheat, but there's many out there that really dislike the taste. The WalMart Soy Sauce has a gluten free variety that gets better feedback. As far as soy goes, it varies from case to case. Unfortunately there is no cut and dry way to figure it out, outside of trying it. I'd suggest giving the gluten free versions of soy sauce a try, but only in a small amount.

soy/wheat
by: Kaye

Hi I have found that there are only 2 soy milks that I can tolerate - vitasoy and an organic one that I can't remember the name of. All the others I have reacted badly to.
Instead of soy sauce, I use Tamari soy sauce made by CeresOrganics.
Soy yoghurt is fine and so is Litelicks icecream but not SoGood.
Hope that helps.
