Wheat, Gluten, Egg and Dairy free Hot Cross Buns
Made in bread maker using dough setting
Makes 16 buns
Ingredients
1/4 C water
1 C rice milk
3 Tbsp oil
1 egg(use an egg replacer ie Organ no eggs)
1 tsp salt
1/4 C brown sugar
4 Cups Horleys wheat and gluten free flour
1 Tbsp mixed spice
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp Allspice
1 Tbsp Edmonds active yeast
Lets Make Hot Cross Buns>
At the Beep add: 3/4 C of Sultanas and the peel of one lemon, Once the dough cycle has completed divide the mixture into 16 buns, shape and leave to rise until the buns have doubled in size
This is approximately 30 minutes to 1 hr in a warm environment.
PIPING MIXTURE FOR THE CROSS:
1 Tbspn of Horleys Wheat and Gluten free Flour mixed with approx 3 Tbsp of water.
Use he piping mixture to pipe a cross onto the top of the buns. These hot cross buns are unglazed but could use a safe glazing agent. Serve Hot, with margarine , and a large cup of coffee for parents.
Bake at 175 degree Celsius for 20-30 minutes
